CHICAGO -- The cast of the 1993 film "Groundhog Day" walk into Harry Caray's Tavern at Navy Pier. What comes next? A long awaited reunion.
Brian Doyle-Murray, Stephen Tobolowsky, Marita Geraghty, Robin Duke, David Pasquesi, Ken Hudson Campbell, Peggy Roeder, Richard Henzel, and Don Rio McNichols will reunite on Friday for the first time since the release of "Groundhog Day" in 1993.
"Groundhog Day," starring comedian and Chicago's own Bill Murray, was famously set and filmed in the Chicago suburb of Woodstock. The 1993 film follows "a narcissistic, self-centered weatherman (who) finds himself in a time loop on Groundhog Day," IMBd states.
The cast reunion will be held at Harry Caray's Tavern at Navy Pier in downtown Chicago on Friday.
The Groundhog Day event will transform Harry Caray's Tavern into an immersive experience, featuring food and beverages inspired by the 1993 film's "Tip Top Café," a snowman, and large ice sculptures, similar to those seen in the movie.
To kick off the event, the Chicago Groundhog Club will have Chicago Harry, the live groundhog, emerge from his tree stump to reveal if he sees his shadow.
"When the alarm clock flips from 2:59 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and “I Got You Babe” plays, all will gather on the patio at Harry Caray's Tavern to commemorate Harold Ramis’ life and accomplished career in film," a press release states.

Ramis, a Chicago-native, "Ghostbuster," and the director of "Groundhog Day," received a BAFTA Film Award for the 1993 classic after winning the "Best Writing" category.
Harold Ramis died on Feb. 24, 2014 due to complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels. He was 69.
During Friday's ceremony, the City of Chicago and Alderman Brendan Reilly will declare Feb. 2 as Harold Ramis Day. Cast members will also share memories of Ramis and filming the 1993 film as part of the ceremony.
The Groundhog Day reunion will take place outside on the patio of the Harry Caray's Tavern at Navy Pier. The event will be open to the public and begins at 3 p.m. on Friday.
Harry Caray's Tavern is located at 700 East Grand Avenue inside Navy Pier.
