United Center announces Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign album listening party

CHICAGO — A listening party for the upcoming album by Ty Dolla $ign and Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, is taking place at Chicago's United Center Thursday.

United Center made the announcement Tuesday morning. Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 3 p.m.

The announcement also came in the form of cryptic social media posts shared by both rappers on their Instagram pages on Monday.

The super duo, who has also gone by the name "¥$," shared images of a yellow "1" over a background resembling wrinkled cloth, alongside another image that said "Vultures United Center Chicago 02 08 24," alluding to the upcoming event.

"Vultures" is a reference to the duo's upcoming album by the same name, which is expected to be released on Friday, a day after the recently announced listening party.

It is Ye's first release since Donda 2, his 2022 demo record, and his first major release since Donda, which came out in 2021.

It also marks the first major release by Ty Dolla $ign since his 2021 collaborative record "Cheers to the Best Memories" that the rapper released alongside the R&B duo Dvsn.

"Vultures," the debut single from the record, sparked controversy due to lyrics referencing antisemitic comments made by Ye in recent years.

Ye, whose controversial remarks have landed him in headlines across the world, made a name for himself in Chicago early on his career.
