Iconic rock band Pearl Jam has dropped its newest single.
"Dark Matter," the title track of the forthcoming album of the same name, is available to stream HERE via Pearl Jam's website. The full album, which will be released on April 19 through Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records, can be pre-ordered HERE via the band's website.
"Dark Matter" is Pearl Jam's 12th album and their first since 2020's "Gigaton."
Late last month, Pearl Jam — helmed by legendary front man and Evanston-born Eddie Vedder — threw a listening party for their new album. Vedder, lead guitarist Mike McCready and bassist Jeff Ament played the album for a few hundred family members, friends, industry insiders and reporters at the famous Troubadour in West Hollywood.
"No hyperbole, I think this our best work," Vedder told the audience as he introduced the new album.

In a news release on its website, the band says it retreated to Shangri-La Studios in Los Angeles in 2023, writing and recording "Dark Matter" in just three weeks under producer Andrew Witt.
"As a result, 'Dark Matter' channels the shared spirit of a group of lifelong creative confidants and brothers in one room playing as if their very lives depended on it," the release states.
The release also says the album's cover art was done by Alexandr Gnezdilov using a large self-made kaleidoscope.
Pearl Jam is a titan of the 1990s-era Seattle grunge groups. The band launched into superstardom with 1991's "Ten," its debut album, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts.
Pearl Jam was inducted, by David Letterman, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
The band will kick off its 2024 tour this spring, with a stop at Wrigley Field for shows on Aug. 29 and 31, the Cubs announced Tuesday morning. Visit pearljam.com/tour for full tour dates.
