CHICAGO -- One of Atlanta's most controversial rappers will grace a Chicago stage this May.

Gunna will bring his "The Bittersweet Tour" to the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on Wednesday, May 8.

The spring tour follows the release of his first single "Bittersweet" since his fourth studio album "a Gift & a Curse" in 2023.

Gunna, whose given name is Sergio Kitchens, has over 34 million monthly listeners on Spotify Music, including his hit songs "Drip Too Hard" and "Lemonade" having a combined 2.6 billion streams.

The four-time Grammy Award nominated artist broke into the main stream after the release of his 2018 mixtape "Drip Season 3" and its follow up single "Sold Out Dates."

This will be the Atlanta rapper's first tour since he was charged with a single count of racketeering conspiracy. Gunna entered an Alford plea in December 2022, which means he maintains his innocence but recognizes that it’s in his best interest to plead guilty.

During Gunna’s plea hearing, the rapper responded, “Yes, ma’am” when when a prosecutor said that “YSL is a music label and a gang” and that he had knowledge that its members or associates had committed crimes in furtherance of the gang.

The 30-year-old rapper has also partnered with Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) and Live Nation to support his non-profit “Gunna’s Great Giveaway” on the upcoming tour by allocating $1 from every ticket sold to support the inner cities in Atlanta, according to a release.

Gunna will be joined by special guest Flo Milli during the North America tour.

The event begins at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. Click here for ticket information.
