SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Illinois State Fair has announced a new addition to its 2024 Grandstand lineup: Lil Wayne.
Lil Wayne will headline the Grandstand on Wednesday, Aug. 14. With 109 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 (more than Elvis Presley), and worldwide sales in excess of 100 million records, he is one of the best-selling artists of all time. Lil Wayne also has 11 BET awards, four Billboard Music Awards, two MTV VMAs and eight NCAAP Image Awards.
"Lil Wayne is a rap legend, and this concert is going to be one for the record books," said Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark. "His show is sure to be a crowd favorite."
Tickets for Lil Wayne's show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Tickets for all of the other headliners are on sale now. The lineup as announced so far is:
- Aug. 9 – Keith Urban (with Mackenzie Porter)
- Aug. 10 – Motley Crue
- Aug. 11 – Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit (with Ashley McBryde)
- Aug. 13 – Jordan Davis (with Ashley Cooke)
- Aug. 14 - Lil Wayne
- Aug. 15 – The Jonas Brothers
- Aug. 16 – The Smashing Pumpkins (with PVRIS)
- Aug. 17 – Miranda Lambert (with Gavin Adcock)
