CHICAGO — Under the advisement of health officials, comedian Matt Rife's shows at the Chicago Theatre this weekend are postponed until the winter.
Before the postponement, Rife, 28, was set to perform five evening shows at the Chicago Theatre this weekend as part of his ProbleMATTic World Tour. The rescheduled shows will now occur Dec. 26-30. As of this writing, the canceled show at Ryman Auditorium has no makeup date.
"Unfortunately, due to immediate health concerns, Matt's shows at the Chicago Theater / Ryman Auditorium are being rescheduled," a message sent to ticketholders read. "On the way to a recent show in Indiana, Matt experienced extreme exhaustion symptoms and nearly fainted heading to the venue. Matt is currently under advisement from his medical team to take immediate time off from touring for two weeks."
Nexstar's WXIN-TV reported Wednesday that the comedian's two sold-out shows in Bloomington, Indiana were canceled due to an "unexpected medical emergency." Rife apologized on social media and added that refunds would be issued.
"I hope you understand and I love you so much," he wrote.
The tour will resume as scheduled in Memphis on Wednesday, June 12.
