CHICAGO -- A Chicago rapper was indicted last week after he allegedly left a machine gun in a ride share vehicle in New York City back in 2022.

Isaiah Dukes, 26, of Calumet City, was indicted on Jan. 24 for possession of a machine gun and possession of an unregistered firearm in New York City, according to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Dukes, known as the rapper "Lil Zay Osama," allegedly carried a loaded Glock pistol affixed with a switch in New York's Queens borough on Sept. 29, 2022.

A switch is a device that when attached to the back of a handgun like a Glock converts the firearm into a fully automatic weapon. Authorities determined that the firearm could automatically fire more than one round with a single function of the trigger, rendering it a machine gun.

Dukes was arrested in Sept. 2022 after leaving the firearm in a rideshare vehicle that brought him from a luxury hotel in Manhattan to a recording studio in Queens. He was indicted on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

If convicted of all counts, Dukes faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison.
